General Treatment Guidelines:

Thoroughly cleanse and gently pat your skin dry prior to high frequency treatment. To optimally prepare the skin for ultrasonic treatment, gently exfoliate away dead skin cells using a quality pre-facial scrub such as Jellen® Microdermabrasion Magic Scrub.

Apply desired skin care product (those with acne-prone skin should apply desired topical acne treatment cream following high frequency application).

Most home-care systems such as the High Frequency Facial Wand Kit incorporate a permanent, non-removeable glass electrode bulb. Professional machines however, such as the Portable High Frequency Facial Wand Machine, offer the convenience of interchangeable glass electrodes that come in different shapes and sizes such as mushrooms, bulbs, combs, etc. to facilitate the treatment of the various contours of the face and body. Please note that these electrode parts will only work with specific machines. All High Frequency Electrodes produce either a neon-orange or neon- violet colored glow. Slowly turn the high frequency machine's power control dial to the lowest intensity setting. The system will now begin to very quietly "hum" as it begins its high frequency wave action. When the system's wand is touched to the surface of the skin, the glass electrode will emit a very safe and therapeutic neon glow. You will also begin to experience a tingling or zapping sensation on your skin as the wand begins to produce a pleasant, skin-purifying aroma similar to fresh air.

Maximize the effectiveness of your favorite skin care product by lightly sweeping the high frequency wand over your skin in a circular or zig-zag motion for about 1-3 minutes. It is not necessary to apply pressure unless you are treating areas of sagging skin or cellulite. These areas should be treated for 4-5 minutes at a slightly higher intensity dial setting using only a very slight pressure. Avoid exerting excessive pressure or firmness as this may cause the internal metal wand casing to become loose resulting in ill-fitting electrode parts.

Always use a very low intensity dial setting during the first few days of initial use. When you no longer feel the intensity of the high frequency current, continue to work at a slightly higher setting. Continue to increase the intensity setting with each treatment until you reach your personal comfort zone.
